Update for CFHS

Good evening, CFHS families. Earlier this evening, authorities asked Southern Arkansas University Tech and the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy to evacuate students from their residence halls due to a wildfire in Calhoun County.
Camden Fairview High School’s gymnasium will serve as a temporary staging area tonight for those evacuated from SAU Tech and ALETA. Please do not be alarmed if you notice a large number of vehicles at CFHS tonight, including law enforcement vehicles from ALETA.
We do not anticipate any impact on tomorrow’s school day. Community partners are working to secure overnight accommodations for those currently staging at CFHS.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
Our thoughts are with the firefighters and emergency personnel working to control the fire, those displaced tonight, and everyone stepping up to care for our community. Thank you.
