Students must be inside their first-period classroom by 8:00 AM. Students who are not in the classroom when the bell rings will be counted tardy.
Tardy consequences include:
- Fifth tardy to first period during a nine-week grading period: detention
- Second tardy to periods 2–7: detention
- Each additional tardy during the school day: one day of noon detention
Students arriving late in the morning should report to the office for a tardy slip. A tardy may only be excused when:
- A school bus is late.
- Entry screening is delayed because the metal detector line is congested. Students will receive a slip from staff at the entrance to give to their first-period teacher.
- The student attended a medical appointment and provides verification from the healthcare provider.
- The student was involved in an accident and provides verification from law enforcement, or the principal has personal knowledge of the accident.
- A documented medical condition may occasionally cause the student to arrive late.
Please help students arrive early enough to complete entry screening and be seated in class by 8:00 AM.
