Camden Fairview is committed to best serving our students and our teachers by providing high-quality instructional materials.
In 2020-21, we adopted Illustrative Mathematics (IM) as our new K-12 math curriculum. Adopting a K-12 curriculum allows for seamless integration at every educational level. Our mathematics educators and facilitators have worked hard to implement the new curriculum, and we’re excited to see growth in our students’ assessments after only two years of implementation.
During the 2021-2022 school year, Camden Fairview teachers, literacy facilitators, and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Tara Armstrong researched literacy curriculums that best aligned with the Science of Reading and provided the high-quality instructional materials we want for our students and teachers. After narrowing the choices to two options that best fit our criteria, the district sought feedback from K-5 families before recommending the adoption of Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts® (CKLA) and 95% Group. Throughout the school year, our teachers also received RISE training to increase their Science of Reading knowledge base and strengthen their literacy instructional strategies. The 2022-2023 school year marks the beginning of our journey with CKLA and 95% Group, and we are laser-focused on creating a community of readers at Camden Fairview.
