Camden Fairview Announces AMI Transition

Dear Camden Fairview families:

As I shared with you yesterday, we have been closely monitoring staff and student absences due to Covid-19 quarantines and active positives. Increasing Covid-19 absences in our staff and students now require us to make the difficult decision to close our buildings and use an Alternative Means of Instruction (AMI) day this Friday, January 14th. Combined with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, January 17th, this allows us a four-day period for staff and students to stay home and finish quarantine/isolations. Every building and bus will also be deep-cleaned and sanitized. We will continue to monitor our Covid-19 quarantines and active positive numbers while planning to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18th.

Teachers will report to school as they continue to be available for students. Students will be required to complete daily assignments, either through AMI paper packets or Google Classroom, depending on their grade-level. AMI packets are available on our website at https://www.cfsd.k12.ar.us/50269_1. Any student experiencing difficulty accessing their assignments should contact their teacher or call their school building. CFHS and CFMS students who need hot spots may check them out through their building principal. We will provide students with to-go breakfast and lunch for Friday at CFHS from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Friday, January 14th. If your student plans to get a meal pickup, please complete the Google Form at https://forms.gle/5zt2jpU85oow4RCf7.

Please remember that we must all work together to ensure that our students and staff are able to return to safe and healthy schools. During this AMI transition and when we return on Tuesday, January 18th, please wear a mask, follow social distancing guidelines, stay home when sick, and get the Covid-19 vaccine and booster doses.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Johnny Embry
