Ivory Primary Hosts Veterans Day Assembly

To show appreciation for veterans and help students understand the importance of service, Ivory Primary hosted a Veterans Day Assembly on November 11, 2021. Veterans and students were led in the Pledge of Allegiance and presentation of colors by the Camden Fairview High School NJROTC. The event also featured second and third grade students performing under the direction of music teacher Lisa Hollis. Song selections included the “Star Spangled Banner”, “We Will Not Forget”, “American Heart”, and “Allegiance Rap”.  Third-grader KeShawn Parrish read “What is a Veteran?”, and second-grader Sloane Edwards read a poem titled “Veterans Day”. Students invited veterans in their families to attend the event, and over 15 veterans were seated in a special seating area. Principal Julia Rice thanked everyone for attending and invited each veteran to introduce themselves by stating their name, rank, and branch of service.
