FES Shares Reminders for Car Riders

2023-2024 FES Car Rider Updates:

▪️The morning car rider line will have duty personnel from 7:30 to 8:00 AM. Please do not drop off your child before the duty person(s) arrive at 7:30 AM. If you arrive before 7:30 AM, you must park in the front parking lot (do not block buses) and bring your child to the office. If you arrive after 8:00 AM, you must bring your child into the office to check-in.

▪️We will be using a number system this year for car rider pick up. If you didn’t get your number on Assessment Day, you may get it in the car rider line during the first week of school.

▪️All car riders will be expected to follow our number system and have the tag/number visible in your car when picking up your child. After the first week, vehicles without a number will be asked to pull out of line and show identification before signing out a student.

▪️There will NOT be a walk-up area for the car rider line this year. Parents are asked to remain in their cars in the car rider line.

▪️Students not picked up by 3:20 PM will be brought inside and should be picked up from the school office.

▪️To make sure ALL of our students and teachers can maximize instruction time and minimize interruptions, we ask that students not be checked out after 2:45 PM. They will be dismissed at the regular time. Students should be picked up in the car rider line beginning at 2:55 PM each afternoon.

Car Line 101:

▪️All cars should turn off Fairview Road onto Dogwood Street, then turn left to enter the car rider circle drive. Immediately form a double-line of cars. Merge at the other end of the covered area on the walking track.

▪️As you reach the covered drop-off/pickup area, there are enough spots for 6 cars to unload and load at once. Please pull all the way up to the farthest available spot.

▪️To help the car rider line move safely and efficiently, please have your car tag number visible and have students enter and exit vehicles only from the rear driver side if possible.

▪️Please make sure your student is ready to exit the car (free of technology, seatbelt off, wearing their backpack, last-minute hugs given, etc.) before your car enters the pickup/dropoff area.
Vehicles should exit on Dogwood Street.

▪️Please do not park in the bus lane in front of the school at any time. If you need to walk your child inside, please park in the parking lot.
