CFMS Principal Honored by UAM

CFMS Principal Fred Lilly II returned to his college alma mater this weekend to be honored as the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s 2022 Young Alumni Rising Star Award and as one of the UAM African American Alumni Association’s 2022 Alumni Elite. Congratulations, Mr. Lilly! We’re proud to see you honored for your hard work and commitment to your students, staff, and community.

Mr. Lilly graduated from Camden Fairview in 2005, earned a bachelor’s degree from UAM in 2009, and returned home to Camden to teach after earning a master’s degree from Mississippi College in 2015. During his time at Camden Fairview, he’s served as an elementary keyboarding and PE teacher, a coach, a high school history teacher, an elementary assistant principal, an elementary principal, and earned two education specialist degrees from Arkansas State University. Mr. Lilly is in his second year as CFMS principal.

Mr. Lilly also serves on the board of directors for the Arkansas Association of Middle School Level Administrators as the Southwest Zone representative and the board of directors of the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators as the statewide regional director coordinator. In 2018, he was chosen as the runner-up for the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators Administrator of the Year. In 2020, he was selected by the Arkansas Department of Education to be a part of the First Year Principal Support Group.

Mr. Lilly currently serves on the Leadership Camden Area board of directors and was recently selected president. Leadership Camden Area works to build a competent leadership pool, motivate emerging and existing leaders, and develop the participants’ potential for community leadership and decision-making. He also serves as the Phi Beta Sigma co-director of education for the state of Arkansas.

Mr. Lilly is married to Ashley Lilly, Camden Fairview High’s Audio-Visual Technology teacher. The couple have three children: Fred (Trey), a fourth-grader at Ivory Intermediate; Asia, a third-grader at Fairview Elementary; and Langston, a future Cardinal.
